Multicultural Place Upgrade
Situated in the heart of the bustling retail precinct of Buckingham and Balmoral Avenues, Multicultural Place is a much-loved outdoor public place. With around 10,000 people a day, this popular public gathering space is where people meet up and proceed to the many exciting shopping and eating experiences within Springvale.
Informed by community feedback as part of the Springvale Revitalisation Action Plan, a concept design is now ready for community feedback.
The concept design to upgrade Multicultural Place and the adjacent laneway includes:
- new street furniture
- pavement upgrades
- lighting and art interventions
- green spaces
- seating/tables for outdoor dining
- recreation and play spaces

Draft concept design "Fireworks"
The draft concept design titled "Fireworks" is a site-specific design response that will:
- Improve how the space functions, protecting and building on the unique characteristics of Springvale
- Deliver a space that meets the diverse needs and aspirations of all community members
- Support the economic sustainability
