Have your say on the role of current and future community hubs in Greater Dandenong.

In Greater Dandenong our community hubs, community centres and facilities are designed to enhance community connectivity and wellbeing by promoting and hosting programs, activities and partnerships.

Our community hubs share cultures, celebrate our community and enable life-long learning.

Amongst our existing hubs such as Springvale Community Hub, we are building a new hub in Keysborough which is on track to open late in 2025. This new hub will provide a wide range of quality services, programs and flexible meeting spaces for our community.

To align all current and future community hubs, community centres and facilities, we are proposing a Hubs Advisory Committee and Strategic Framework that will help guide community engagement, evaluation and development activities of these facilities.

To help guide the priorities, actions and goals for community hubs in Greater Dandenong we are creating a Community Hubs Framework.

This document will help bring together our community facilities under one banner, create a shared sense of purpose without losing the integrity and individuality of each facility.

We want to know what your priorities and vision are for community hubs to help inform this document, the Draft Community Hubs Framework.

We have proposed a combined Hubs Advisory Committee whose role is to champion the combined hubs Framework and overall objectives and purpose.

We are asking for your feedback on the combined Hubs Advisory Committee’s Draft Terms of Reference which will guide this new committee’s work once it is established.

In the Terms of Reference, we propose the following objectives for the Hubs Advisory Committee:

• Advise Council on opportunities to enhance community connection and access to all community hubs within Greater Dandenong.
• Identify opportunities to promote engagement, programs, and activities across the hubs.
• Ensure effective communication between community representatives and Council.
• Identify opportunities for partnerships, improvement initiatives, programs, and activities at the hubs.
• Contribute to the achievement of community development goals across multiple hubs.
• Provide feedback on the review of strategic plans, action plans, policies, programs, and services related to the hubs.
• Address emerging issues impacting the hubs.
• Promote a positive profile for all community hubs across Greater Dandenong.
