Thanks for having your say on the new informal recreation area planned for Frederick Wachter Reserve in Keysborough.

The final concept plan design is currently being developed based on the feedback received from the community.

Project Information

This project is part of the Frederick Wachter Reserve Master Plan.

The Frederick Wachter Reserve Master Plan 2019 identified that this reserve does not have any informal recreational facilities for the community to use, such as a multi-purpose court.

An Implementation Plan will guide the staged construction program.

The funding of these capital works projects is subject to future capital improvement bids being supported through council’s annual budget process.

The draft concept plan proposes 3 recreation activity zones and a picnic zone located near the existing playground.

The initial ideas for recreation facilities include:

  • full size multi-purpose court area with basketball and futsal goals
  • practice basketball hoop area
  • practice netball goals
  • practice hoops at different heights that cater to all ages and abilities
  • pump track
  • rebound wall and quarter court with multiple sports markings (tennis, cricket and handball)
  • bouldering
  • rock climbing structure on rebound wall.

You can also tell us your ideas and suggestions for other recreational facilities that you would like to see included.

  • the proposed location of the recreational spaces
  • the existing playground
  • the public toilet facility.
  • shelters
  • seating areas
  • picnic and BBQ area
  • drinking fountain
  • path network
  • grassed areas
  • new trees and garden beds.
