Help shape our Community Facilities Access and Use Policy

Council manages a range of community facilities that support local groups, events, and activities.

We’ve heard from the community

about improving access to community facilities, through understanding a range

of challenges, including the booking process, rates of hire. You also told us

that access can sometimes feel complicated or unfair.

Your insights have helped shape the new Community Facilities Access and Use Policy, which is our first step to improve:

  • Fairness in how spaces are allocated
  • Clear information for community groups
  • Support for bookings and promotions
  • A review and simplification on the Fees and Charges

It is now your turn to share your feedback on the draft Community Facilities Access and Use Policy and let us know if we have missed anything.

What we’ve done so far

  • Reviewed community feedback from previous feedback
  • Assessed current booking processes and challenges
  • Drafted a policy that sets principles for fair and transparent access

What we would like to know

  • We want to make sure this policy works for everyone. Tell us:
  • Does the policy address your needs?
  • Are there any gaps or improvements we should consider?
  • How can we better support groups using community facilities?
