Funded by a Creative Victoria Arts Precinct grant, the ACE (Arts, Culture and Entertainment) consultation aims to get a better understanding of our community’s engagement with arts, culture and entertainment in the City of Greater Dandenong.
In other words, what gets you out of the house for socialising, enjoying your community and being entertained?
From this research, Council will gain a better idea of what social experiences you’re after, what arts and entertainment activities you enjoy the most, and what activities you want to get involved in.
Your feedback will help us prepare the Draft Arts, Culture and Entertainment Action Plan. The Plan will align with the Arts, Culture and Heritage Strategy 2022-26 and provide additional recommendations to guide our work in programming, promotions and engagement.
ART
Art (or “the arts” collectively) refers to creative activity or the creations made. Art comes in many forms, often a combination of art forms, as listed here.
CULTURE
Culture is about identity and how we see ourselves as belonging to a group, community, or a whole nation. We express culture through shared attitudes, values, beliefs, traditions, language and in many other ways. Culture often influences what kind of art is made, how it is shown or performed, and how audiences experience it.
ENTERTAINMENT
Entertainment (or being entertained) is an activity that holds attention and gives pleasure to an audience. An audience can be one person or many people at a time.
For this consultation, we focus on entertainment gained from art and culture, when these are seen, heard and experienced.
