About

Whether you own a pet or not, responsible pet ownership impacts everyone.

Every four years, under the Domestic Animals Act 1994, we are required to develop a Domestic Animal Management Plan (DAMP). Think of it as our game plan for all things dogs and cats—covering everything from registrations to reducing dangerous or nuisance dog behaviour and improving animal welfare.

We have identified six key areas from the previous DAMP that your feedback can directly impact, they are:

  • promoting responsible pet ownership
  • raising awareness, providing education and incentives
  • reducing the risk of dangerous and nuisance pet behaviour
  • addressing feedback on local laws
  • encouraging pet registration and identification
  • ensuring we meet all legal requirements under the Act and related regulations

We want to know your thoughts on the previous DAMP to help us inform the new one.

Help us shape the DAMP to better support you and our community in Greater Dandenong by completing the survey below and have your say.
